How long do Jolene nipple covers stay on?

Jolene nipple covers are designed for real life wear, from busy workdays to weddings, nights out, holidays, and everything in between.

Our skin-safe adhesive is designed to stay securely in place for up to 12+ hours when applied to clean, dry skin. The adhesive flexes with your body, helping the covers stay smooth and secure without lifting at the edges. For best results, avoid applying over body lotion, oils, fake tan, or damp skin.

For our Premium Adhesive-Free Nipple Covers (Non-Sticky):

Our adhesive-free covers stay in place for as long as your outfit provides light, natural compression. They’re designed to work best under snug tops, dresses, activewear, and swimwear, where the fabric helps hold them comfortably and securely in place throughout the day or night

Will they stay on if I sweat or get caught in the rain?

Yes. The silicone adhesive on Jolene’s Premium Silicone Nipple Covers (Adhesive) is water-resistant and holds through perspiration, humidity and light rain. They're tested in real wear conditions including summer weddings, festivals and warm-climate holidays.
If you're swimming or fully submerging in water, we recommend removing them - extended water exposure will reduce the adhesive lifespan.

Can I wear them dancing all night?

Yes - Jolene covers are designed for all-day and all-night wear. Customers wear them to weddings, clubs, festivals and on long-haul flights without reapplication.

Do nipple covers work under tight or fitted clothing?

Yes. Jolene nipple covers were designed to disappear under clothing, whether you’re wearing a bodycon dress, silk slip, ribbed top, activewear, or swimwear.

Skin Sensitivity & Safety

Are Jolene nipple covers safe for sensitive skin?

Yes. Jolene nipple covers are made from medical-grade, hypoallergenic silicone with no latex, no parabens and no fragrance. The adhesive is the same class used in skin-contact medical devices and is suitable for most sensitive skin types. If you have a known silicone allergy or a specific dermatological condition, patch-test on your inner forearm for 24 hours before first wear.

Can I wear nipple covers if I have eczema, psoriasis or very reactive skin?

If you’re experiencing an active flare-up of eczema, psoriasis, broken skin, or irritation around the chest area, we recommend waiting until your skin has fully healed before wearing Jolene nipple covers.

Our covers are made from skin-safe, hypoallergenic silicone with a gentle adhesive. If you have reactive or sensitive skin, we always recommend carrying out a 24-hour patch test on your inner forearm before first wear.

As there’s no adhesive involved, many women with sensitive skin find this style to be a gentler option. However, we’d still recommend a patch test before full wear if your skin is particularly reactive.

Will nipple covers damage my skin or leave marks?

No. Jolene nipple covers are designed to feel comfortable against the skin and, when worn and removed correctly, should not leave residue, marks, or cause irritation.

Our skin-safe adhesive is designed to release gently from the skin. To remove, simply peel slowly from the outer edge inwards, supporting the surrounding skin with your other hand. Avoid pulling them off quickly, as this may cause temporary irritation on any skin type.

For our Premium Adhesive-Free Nipple Covers (Non-Sticky):

As there’s no adhesive involved, they simply lift away from the skin with no stickiness, residue, or pulling.

If you have particularly sensitive skin, we always recommend testing for a short period before all-day wear.

Are nipple covers safe to wear while breastfeeding?

We don't recommend wearing nipple covers while actively breastfeeding or pumping. Once you've finished your breastfeeding journey, Jolene covers are safe to wear normally. If you're between feeds and want to use them for a special occasion, speak to your midwife or lactation consultant first - every body is different.

What size nipple cover do I need?

Jolene currently offers two nipple cover sizes, both designed to fully cover the nipple and areola for a seamless, invisible finish.

Our Premium Silicone Nipple Covers (Adhesive) measure 8cm x 8cm and are our most versatile size, designed to suit most women and offer beautiful coverage across a wide range of cup sizes.

Our Premium Adhesive-Free Nipple Covers (Non-Sticky) are slightly larger at 10cm x 10cm, offering extra coverage and support, especially under snug tops, dresses, activewear, or swimwear.

When choosing your Jolene size, it’s less about your bra cup size and more about your desired level of coverage, outfit choice, and personal preference. If you prefer a little extra coverage, our adhesive-free style may be the perfect fit.

Will my nipples still show through?

Not when fitted correctly, Jolene covers fully conceal the nipple, including in cold conditions and through thin fabric. The covers have a built-in dome structure that flattens the nipple shape and prevents any visible silhouette. This is the core function of the product and the most rigorously tested part of the design.

How do I know if they're the right fit?

A correctly fitted Jolene cover sits flat against the skin with no air bubbles, no edges lifting, and the centre dome positioned directly over the nipple. You shouldn't be able to feel where the cover ends. If you can see the outline through your top or feel the edge lifting, the cover hasn't bonded fully — peel off, reapply to clean dry skin, and press firmly for 10 seconds.

Do they work for asymmetrical breasts or different nipple sizes?

Yes. Each Jolene cover is applied individually, so you can position each one independently to suit your body. The flexible silicone moulds to the natural shape of each breast, and the dome accommodates a range of nipple sizes from flat to prominent. Asymmetry is normal and the product is designed around real bodies.

How many times can I reuse Jolene nipple covers?

With the right care, your Jolene adhesive nipple covers can typically be worn 20–25+ times. Lifespan depends on how well they’re cleaned between wears, the products on your skin (such as oils, fake tan, and body lotion), and how carefully they’re stored in their reusable case between uses.

Our adhesive-free nipple covers are designed to be worn again and again, with no set wear limit. As there’s no adhesive layer, they can last significantly longer when cared for properly. Simply keep them clean, dry, and stored inside their protective plastic domes and reusable case between wears.

How do I clean my nipple covers?

Wash Jolene covers after every wear with a small amount of mild fragrance-free soap and lukewarm water. Rub the adhesive side gently with your fingertip — never use a cloth, sponge or nail brush, which damage the adhesive. Air-dry sticky-side up on the storage case. Once dry, the adhesive reactivates and they're ready to wear again.

Why have my nipple covers stopped sticking?

The most common reasons nipple covers lose stickiness are: residue from skincare products (moisturiser, body oil, sunscreen) on the adhesive, washing with fragranced soap or detergent, lint and dust collected from being stored unprotected, or simply reaching the end of their 30-wear lifespan.

Wash gently with mild soap, dry sticky-side up on the case, and they'll usually recover their grip.

How should I store my nipple covers between wears?

For our Premium Silicone Nipple Covers (Adhesive):

Always store your Jolene covers sticky-side down on the inner lining of their reusable case, with the lid closed. This helps prevent lint, hair, and dust from settling on the adhesive, which is the biggest cause of reduced stickiness over time. Please avoid storing them loose in a drawer, makeup bag, or suitcase pocket.

Always place your covers back inside their protective plastic domes after wear, then store them in their reusable case with the lid closed. This helps them stay clean, protected, and keeps their shape between wears.

Can you see Jolene nipple covers through clothing?

No. Jolene nipple covers are designed to be invisible under clothing, including white shirts, silk dresses, ribbed knits and fine jersey. The edges taper to a feathered finish that blends into the skin, and the nude-tone silicone is colour-matched across our shade range to suit a range of skin tones. The covers add no visible bulk and no disc outline.

What can I wear them under?

Jolene covers are designed for any outfit where a bra would show or doesn't work — strapless dresses, backless tops, halternecks, deep V-necks, bodycon dresses, sheer blouses, silk slips, swimwear, bridalwear and racerback gym kit. They're a direct alternative to a bra, not an addition to one.

Are nipple covers suitable for wedding dresses?

Absolutely. Jolene’s covers are a popular choice for brides wearing strapless, backless, low-back or sheer-detail wedding dresses. The covers stay in place through ceremony, photographs, dinner and dancing. Do they come in different shades for different skin tones?

Yes. Jolene nipple covers are available in a range of nude shades designed to match a spectrum of skin tones, so the cover disappears against the skin rather than showing through light or sheer fabric. Shade matching matters most under white, cream, pastel and sheer clothing so you can choose the tone closest to the skin around your areola, not your overall body skin.
